Taiwan - Day 6

The last time I blogged about Taiwan was like in April. HAHA it's so long overdue. If you remember, I was talking about putting our own fireworks at the Beach and nearly kena caught. Such embarrasing yet exciting moment none of us can ever forget.

Ok let's go to day 6, our last day staying at Danshui (Beach)

We left Danshui for Ximending!!! YAY
It's a Sunday and of course, it is crowded almost everywhere, not to say the hotspots like Ximending and Danshui. Families will gather at Danshui to cycle and relax, then the trendy youngsters will be hanging out at Ximending.
I'm not trying to say that we're trendy, as compared to them, we just look foreign to them even though we share the same colour skin.

After shopping at Ximending for almost the whole day, I must say that the price of stuff here (except for the shoes) are more expensive than the rest of the places such as Danshui and Taichung and Shilin (I haven't been to Shilin at this part of my trip yet), nevertheless they are still cheaper than those in Singapore. Even the food in the restaurants are mostly cheaper than those in Singapore.

My friends and I wanted to try the famous 阿宗面线, but the queue was very very long, it stretched to at least 3-shops-long, so we decided to try another day when we move to Ximending. So we tried the food from Curryworld. Yummmmmy!

Don't forget, we went to Taiwan during their presidential election. The people in Ximending gave their support to Ma Ying-Jeou (Hey, I support him too!) So, we got to see an Ah Pek all dressed up as a person in the ancient times, holding a banner to express his support and his calls for support for Ma Ying-Jeou. He's there almost everyday, even on rainy days.

Handsome ok?
It soon turned dark, at around 6pm it's dark already. So we travelled back to Danshui, our beloved Kenneth played the game, trying to win a soft toy for Xiang Ni.

Awwwww, where's my yh?

It's ok, Joan and I got ourselves the 阿嬷古早冰(say it in hokkien). Very delicious ok? Hidden in a corner behind the Danshui Old Street. Considering the cold weather there, we were already freezing by the time we finished the whole cuppa ice cream :/

Remember we nearly got caught on the day before for playing fireworks near a lighthouse and ships? We played the fireworks again, on our very last day at Danshui. We cycled and cycled, but just couldn't find the beach (the only place allowed to play fireworks). So, we settled ourselves by the road, and released the fireworks. This time, it's many many more! :D

Look at the picture below, doesn't it look like an explosion? :O

The street was so empty I could lie on the pathway!
And Kenneth was the Fireworks-man of the night, with Laura helping once.. haaha

After the fireworks, we cycled to the Fishermen's Wharf. such a dead place on a Sunday night. It was very lively on Saturday night, but we missed it :(
Then we found a small arcade still opened like at midnight.
Everone has a soft toy caught/won by a guy, but I don't have. How can?
Yh, at this time, where are u?? hahaha
ok nvm, Ken was trying to catch the little ducky from the UFO Catcher, den it got stucked at the edge, it nearly dropped!!!
So I, saw that there was nobody else around who saw us, shook the machine hard and the little duck dropped! HAHAHAHA, So it's mine.

Cos poor me no toy :,(
But now me got toy :D

The bridge u see above is the Lover Bridge. No idea why they came up with this name, perhaps a lot of lovers gather at this bridge on Valentine's Day :)

Our last night at Danshui.
