Taiwan - Day 7

We moved from Danshui, the cool beach, to the city - Ximending

Carrying all our luggages again, this time with more things (look at Joan, she's got an extra Meiji bag and Xiang Ni's got her additional bag). So we carried all the bulky and heavy stuff and hopped onto a bus and then a train to Ximending. The train was crowded, please. Everyone was looking at us.

Rainbow Hotel
We arrived at our final hotel which is in Ximending.
It was rather spacious, I would say. The 4 girls shared a room while the 3 boys had to share a King/Queen-sized bed. Yong Min ended up sleeping with sleeping bag on the floor :/

In the meanwhile, look at the 2 pictures below and you will see what kept us laughing. They've done their best.

The slipper will slide.

Yeah, so after much laughter, we went out to hunt for fooooood in Ximending.

and then, directly opposite the shop...

Shilin Night Market
After our satisfying lunch, we headed to Shilin Night Market. It doesn't just open at night, just that when it's in the night, the illegal stalls will be set up on the stretch of road in Shilin Night Market. And the illegal I am talking about is not the sale of pirated Cds, VCDs or what shit, but that the stalls have no license to run their stalls there. But the things they sell are really cheap and nice.
The places there are big and different people wants to shop for different things, hence we usually split into 2 groups - Guys and Girls. So this is how we communicate...

Sometimes the guys just suddenly speak into it and the people in the shop will look at us. Sometimes I don't hear any replies and I'll sing into it.
Sometimes we're just too far apart and there's no reception.
Sometimes the battery runs low :/

This is when the illegal stalls are set up in the road between the shops, then they suddenly disappear cause the police comes. So the police appears and disappears and the illegal stalls hides in a place and then they appear again and again and again and..... haha it's rather funny to see the scene.

It's not only about shopping in the night market, it's about fooood too! Shilin is famous for its HUGE fried chicken, it really is HUGE, uncut and with bones as compared to what Singapore's Shilin shop is selling.

Then they have the HUGE and delicious sausage too! Of course they don't sell the WHOLE sausage to the customers, they cut a portion of it and sell.

Shop, eat and what else?
Pets for sale!!! They have a lotta pet shops in a corner of the night market. The baby huskies look so cute :D
There's even an arcade and a bowling alley in Shilin.

spooky corner~
(it's just an empty space for rent)

Look what we've got...

It's 11+ and we're catching the last train back to Ximending to have a good night's sleep zzzzzZZzzz
